嘉宾简介：Bennardo教授是当前美国最著名的认知人类学家之一，也是人类学在更为广泛的认知科学中的代言人之一，专长领域为语言和认知人类学。他的研究将语言学、人类学和心理学综合在一起，探讨了人类认知的文化结构，以及语言，文化和认知之间微妙复杂的联系。Bennardo教授曾主持过四项由美国国家科学基金会资助的多学科认知科学研究项目, 曾入围 Fulbright National Committee 的国际研究和教学. Bennardo教授曾在密苏里大学，加州大学洛杉矶分校，哥伦比亚大学等任教，常年讲授语言人类学，认知人类学和认知科学, 多次被北伊利诺大学授予突出贡献教授称号.

内容简介：Language is considered the highway into the mind, that is, most of our mental processing and knowledge is necessarily conveyed by means of linguistic forms. In search of the cultural aspects of mind it is then highly useful to analyze linguistic production to arrive at the mental background that generated it. I am presenting in this talk a few strategies employed to elicit linguistic data and the way they can be analyzed to discover some cultural aspects of mental life.
